Noel Scott B.Sc., M.B.A. (Dist.), M.Bus. (Marketing) is currently studying for a Ph.D at the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Griffith University, Gold Coast on the topic of ‘Trends in Tourism’. He is the inaugural Martin Oppermann Memorial Scholarship holder, funded by the Cooperative Research Centre for Sustainable Tourism. Prior to this, Noel was a Senior Manager of Research and Strategic Services at Tourism Queensland. He has also worked in research management in the Petroleum, Finance and Electricity industries. He has represented Queensland on the Tourism Research Committee (ATC) of Australian Standing Committee On Tourism (ASCOT) and is past Chairman of the Market Research Society in Queensland and on the Queensland committee of the Pacific Asia Tourism Association (PATA). His current research interests are in strategic tourism marketing, tourism product development and tourism trends.
